Engine won't start HELP
 

I took my boat out yesterday for the first time this past Friday. Both engines started right up and ran fine up to operating temperature. I ran the engine for about 10-15 minutes. When I came back down to idle, one of the engines died. It will turn over, however, no SPARK. I let it sit for about 30-40 minutes, turned it over, started right up. Did the same thing all day. The engine is a 496 tall deck, carburated motor with an MSD ignition set-up. I replaced the coil yesterdday and no difference. When cold it fires right up. After it heats up it will die and have to wait till it cools. I know it is electrical as it will get no spark when it heats up. Could it be the coil wire? Distributor, MSD box??????

I'm guessing the box.

Don't know if I've ever seen a coil wire not work cause it was hot in the engine compartment. Just a guess though. Others on here much more qualified than me to answer the question.

One way to check would be to swap the boxes over to the other motor then see if that motor has the same problem.
