how many starter selinoids on 502?

I have a Scarab Panther with twin 502s. Starter on port motor engages, cant be shut off other than with battery switch. In a pinch, went to Auto Zone, they said there may be 2 silinodes per motor! Hope someone can help me with this! Thanks, Tom
