Grimmy,

Actually we will be around the weekend of the 4th but I have to work that night and the next day. We're going to run the gun and my buddies Tiger out of Channel Islands on Saturday if you want to head out this way and make your way. Then you can head down for some more boating out of Newport on Sunday...Just a thought ;)

Thank God we have the "Wise Old Owl"!!!
Do you mean get lost on our way to the island? Or get lost going from the Parrot to the Ice Cream bar?

Not looking good for this weekend but maybe next! If I find my way clear, I'll try to hook up with one of you this weekend, no boat tho. Some warranty work won't be complete by this weekend.

If I don't see you, have a great time! (wow my spelling & grammer were atrocious!)

I'll keep in touch h20 about next weekend. Would love to get out there and Elim should be done with the work by then.

Then Father's Day in Havasu, and July 8 for about a week and a half in Havasu. Can't wait!!!!

How rough is that ride? I've never put my boat in salt water, would I be safe in a 30' single engine boat? It's no Cigarette or Apache but it rides good in anything the local lakes can throw at it. What kind of speeds do you run out there? Are you guys balls to the wall at 100mph all the way there and back or cruising? I'm interested in doing Catalina some time in my future, kind of tired of Havasu and Lake Pleasant. How far is the run to Catalina from Long Beach or Newport?

Ask KachinaKen. He takes his out all the time! I have taken my 28' Eagle out there once on a smooth day and know that it can handle much more. The conditions change a lot so experience is a plus, but just about any weekend there are a few great guys (poodles) like Nort, Tank, Lou (the bus driver) out there to steer you in the right direction. GPS helps as well.

As far as speeds go, you go as fast as the conditions dictate. 100mph is fast out there. I would say 55-75 is a great range. Over that gets hairy and a bigger boat pays off.

I can't wait to get out there as I have always been Nort's seat warmer. My boat as well as your boat can handle it just fine, I'm sure.
