Need a New Boat Lift.
 

Good afternoon all ! New to this forum, looks pretty cool though. Over the holiday weekend I had the boat on and off of the lift about 5 times and she finally gave out. It's pretty old and the motor just burned out. The galvanized steel beams are very old and starting to rust thru also. It's just time to replace it. My contractor gave me a couple of quotes for two different lifts, and I'm getting the one with the remote this time ! The prices, power & capasity are very close but which brand should I go with ? He gave me a quote for a "Davit Master" lift and one for an "ABL" lift. Which one is better ? The "Davit Master" is about $250.00 cheaper, but $$$ is not the issue. I want quality that will last for years. I've heard a few good things about "Davit Master" before but not anything about "ABL". Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks ! ! !

How big a lift are you looking for? Weight? Type?

I'm looking for a CRADDLE LIFT that can lift 10,000lbs at about 8-9 feet per minute. I have a 26 Donzi ZX.

As far as piling lifts go.. I'd say Golden is top notch, followed by Hi Tide...
Both of which are built in FL, not far from St.Pete.

Do your homework on what is out there....
I'll be at the Miami boat show tomorrow...I'll see who's there and what they've got....

Check pricing vs capacity.. The cost diff between a 10,000 and 14,000 piling lift may not be too much...

Are your pilings still good? Are you sure????

tim g the lift you had at the ft. lauderdale race 2 years ago was about the best i have seen.............flipping the floation with a remote..............simple and effective.....m.m............

Sunstream is doing very well. The products were/are very good. Pricey, but top notch... I did one 18,000lb lift for a Fountain 38TE for $25k!!! Awesome setup.
Floatlifts are good, but honestly, I liked the Sunlift better.
The Sunlift was the one we used for the trophy stage... :rolleyes:

Not sure I have heard of a Float Lift. What, is it some kind of an inflatable or something ? I only have about 11-12 feet of width to work with. How big is this thing ?

the 10,000lb Floatlift measures 24' long, and needs about 13' of slip width.
OSO Steve has a 10,000lb lift under the Gladiator, and a 6,000lb lift under the 24' Spectre....

The Floatlift uses Hard, solid floats, and hydraulics to lower the chassis into the water.

You may also be a candidate for the Sunlift... It sits on four footpads, right on the bottom.
I did a pile of these things in Siesta Key....
The 10,000lb Sunlift is available with a fully adjustable cradle to give the boat good support, much better than a piling lift ever can...
FYI, they have an XR model in the 10,000lb that has a taller lifting stroke.. I think it was 7' rather than 5'.
