Performance gain predictions, 28 Daytona w/Raylar 496 HO's?
 

I've been kicking around adding the 496 HO Raylar kits. I need some input based on current stock numbers and possible expected gains after adding the kits.

Here's what I got: 28 Daytona 496 HO's XZ drives, no boxes and prop shafts even with bottom of boat running 29p Hydro P5X's.

Current #'s
3000 rpm's = 52 mph
3500 rpm's = 62 mph
4000 rpm's = 72 mph
4900-5000 = 90-92 mph WOT

The kits are said to raise the 496 HO to 525+ hp and 610 ft. lbs. torque @ 3800 rpm's. I definitely want the reliability with 87 octane and no super chargers.

I figured if the kits allowed me to add 3-4 pitches, I would see at least a 10 mph gain at 3000, 3500 and 4000 rpm's with the possibility of 12-15 mph at WOT.

Any predictions would be appreciated... :D

what does a 28 w/ 525's run? i would assume you would be real close to that...

and you might not end up adding as much prop as you think, but turning more rpm....
