Boxes will put your props deeper in the water ... if you don't raise the X ... you will go slower

Boxes give you more leverage to hold the bow up while running less trim ... less trim will push the boat more straight ahead instead of more trim digging down to push the bow up.

I have not been able to put a lot of time on my boat yet, but the first two trips out i could tell a big difference. I went from trs to Stellings boxes with Imco Extreme Shorties. The boat is a lot more responsive to trim and planes very well for having and 18" X Dimension. My shafts are 4 inches below the bottom and my boat is one of the few Hawk 40's with a notched transom. They also look a lot better than puny standard transom assemblies.

Where is your sea water pick ups?
Can you still use the factory bravo pick ups?

When I looked at puting them on mine a couple of years ago I was told thats not enough, should still raise another 2 inches for ideal X especialy on a boat without a notch. Simptoms sound like he's draging the drives too low.

Yes, you can still use the Bravo pickup. You can use through prop exhaust, but a custom extension will need be fabricated to connect the Y pipe the transom assembly.

The inch of rise will get you back to the original x-dim. The box allows the x to be raised even further from there.
