I have the HO's and I have seen 83 on the gps.

Tanks are 110. New SS are a little bigger.

454"mags" should definitely get upper 70's with stock props/setup.

4900 rpm this time of year is is not good.

4900 rpm AND only 71 is proof of a downright sick setup assuming the motors are good...

Go to the Sunsation website and read some of the test write ups from the various magazines of the various setups including the 454mags. Then ask the current owner what the real story is...

BTW, I've always liked the Fountains and especially the Fever. Never been on one (Fever), but always kinda dug it's looks....

Both are nice boats and would have to judge on condition and Graphics... early to mid 90 models fountains ,had the better graphics . the new sunsation graphics are super nice. of course you guys know
which 35 ft boat i would pick.

Well I'd have to agree to disagree here. I own a 2001 27 Fountain, I don't have to step over the Bolster, The floor pad is angled making standing while driving very easy to do. As I do agree that the cabins are small the quality of craftsmanship and quality in the cabin and cockpit whether you thick its basic with no frills or not is much better then the Sunsation. Yes my boat sits low in the back and does take in water at times (seems like an inhernt Fountain problem) but I think the stance of the Fountain is what makes them stand above the crowd. I'm not saying here that Fountains are the best, and will still say Sunsations are very nice looking boats but if it were a choice of the two there would be no question in my mind which one I would buy!!! There's my 02

I'll bring my 509's and their flat torque curve to any Fountain versus sunsation acceleration test that you desire ...

I could tone it down a bit and not come off so harsh but nobody bothers when talking about a Fountain, so get the whole truth
Fake windshield - hmmm, not sure what that means

I think they make Fountains with FAKE windshields too . God forbid Reggie is copying Ebbtide!

And personally I like those versions better than the "REAL" windshields.

That is close. I have 454 mags with 28 inch lab props. 76 every day with a load of gas and people, 90 degree days at LOTO. Boat was tested in salt water, perfect conditions at 80.5.

Sunsation all day long if it was me I have been on a couple and they handle great. I have also been on a fountain, did not care for it at all, to me the Sun looks new, the fountain looks like it is a left over from the seventies but just look at the builder . Ha this is just my .02 and who cares what I say anyway

Left over from the 70's ???? Well there still must be alot
of Disc Kings out there, because they sell a hell of alot
more Fountains than anthing else on the market. When
your dropping somewhere between 150 and 300K,everthing
about a boat comes into play, and lots of people are still
choosing Fountains.
