How fast is your V Hull (try to be honest).
What power are you using?
(post the boat size and weight).

27" Fountain
496HO prop 24 pitch bravo
at Havasu 5300 RPM hitting limiter (needs 26 pitch) about 69 MPH (not gps)
At pleasant 5000 RPM about 65 MPH (not gps) alot higher elevation thats why the speed decrease.

Elevation at Havasu is about 400 feet above sealevel, and at Pleasant about 2000 feet above sealevel
