Need Advice- 06 Cigarette 42x

Looking at an 06 x with staggered 525's with paint options and trailer. How does this boat compare to the tiger, how does it handle rough water, what speed should it run and approximately how much would this cost. thanks

I heard the bottom on the 42X's hasn't been refined yet.
It's way over priced!

Wiggler, I ran a 02 42' Tiger this weekend with buyer 575's,non -stagger........boat ran beautiful.Cruise 62 @ 4000,
buzzed it to 80 and had a few more.......left.I am a Cig. dealer and pricing only shows w/850's & #6's,but that was Miami Show pricing....Who are you shopping? I'm in Ohio. A 42' Tiger w/525's,paint,trailer would be in the 506-510 range, I have a 42' X coming with 850's,6's killer paint around 790k.

I know where you can get a new 04' with 1000's, dry sump 6's for considerably less than that, actually more like the price of the one with 525's....

PM me if interested.

I am surprised to hear they even made an X with 525's since it was designed for bigger power and drives, hence the "X" which stands for "Extra performance".

You can get the triples but I haven't seen one with twins. I definitely could be mistaken.

I think as long as you have the $$$ they'll put whatever you ask in there.

I have a '04 42X with 1075s and its the baddest 42X available. Only 22 hours. If you think you may be interested private message me with a cell # and name. Price will be in the mid 500K. Dont waste your time with small power in that boat. Buy a Top Gun then. Twin Step is correct!! The 42X was designed for big power. And there are absolutely no issue with the bottom on that boat.

I still cant believe Merc put out the 600, de-tuned, matched up with the XR Drive.... it might be a nice set up with a slightly modified 600 and the new XXR? Drive

There is a guy at my marina with a brand new X with twin 525 and xr's. The boat can do only 80 at best. I think its the only one made with small power. Just to let you know that there has been one made.

Sorry, they are actually 1050 EFI's, not 1000's. Motors have 5 hours test time from the factory, that's all!
