Default Title transfer in Maryland?

My dad is going to sell his 27' Sea Ray. What paper work is needed to transfer the title and do all the loan work?

I don't think we have tag shops like in Pa. I've only lived in Md. for three years and I haven't bought or sold anything by owner yet.

He will need to give the buyer the title with the rear portion filled out and he should also give them a signed bill of sale. They used to want a notarized bill of sale, but last boat I did, they had no problem with it just signed by the seller-and this was on a boat from Texas.

What Ted said. The only time they will question a non notarized b.o.s. is if you are declaring a 100k boat for 10k, then it must be notarized. Also remember in MD the date of entry into md, can not be longer than 30 days before you register it. So if you hold off on registering it. make sure when you get to DNR that the date of entry is less than 30 days....Rob
