Race Boat Insurance

We are an Aussie race team and wondering who you guys insure your fast boats with.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Re: Race Boat Insurance

As far as I know race boats are not insured. The only way you could get away with insuring it is if the boat started as a pleasure boat.

I'm sure some of the racers will give ideas, but until they do go to the following race sites:

Re: Race Boat Insurance

A good friend of mine does not carry specific collision/comprehensive/theft/fire on his boats, but rather has a large Personal Liablility Umbrella Policy over everything he owns, cars, trucks, business, boats, etc. If he has a loss on/of the boat, he is in trouble.

Try www.yachtquote.com and www.pmafastins.com

Race boats can be insured against fire, theft and over the road coverage. Once they hit the water at a race, the coverage falls away.
