Default Marine Elevator Lifts, Anyone have experience?

I have the standard 16,000 lb cradle lift in Florida. I like the features of an elevator lift. It appears that it does not require your entire dock wall for access and egress.

I was considering installing one of these in Ohio.

Can anybody comment from experience on practicality and functionality for a 12,000 lb CAT / boat?
