Yeah, believe it or not. "The Waterway" has a total of five locks. Four only change height of about 3 or 4 ft., but one changes 16 ft. On one of our trips we were the first boat in so kinda close to the "doors'. There was just enough of a crack to see how far we were "dropping", kinda wierd.
That's probably the best boating adventure I've had. Most of the way there are no speed zones, at least that's the way it was the last time I ran it.
In Clewiston (where Rolan Martin's marina is located) the two restaurants in town have a pick up and return service. The bar in the Clewiston Inn has a 360 degree (all four walls) of an Everglades "seascape" and the whole bar is bathed in tourquoise light, yes, tourquoise light. I talked about that for years. You have to see it to believe it.
