Hi,

I have a 4.3 V6 Merc and mistakenly ordered a
NEW MERCRUISER THUNDERBOLT IGNITION IV MODULE PART # 15899A-1A-FITS V8 STAMPED V8 22 FITS MCM/MIE 5.0 ENGINES
But needed a
NEW MERCRUISER THUNDERBOLT IGNITION MODULE PART # 15247A-1 FITS V6 STAMPED V6 14
I found out after I installed it. I have no use for the V8 module but really need a V6 module.
The two modules look exactly the same. The boat still runs only sometimes and when it dose it is usually bad.
Is there a difference between the two modules? any suggestions?

The difference is in the timing curve.The v8 module has more ignition advance.
