12 VOLT Cabin Air/Conditioner
Anyone ever tried to make one of these little A/C. They use Ice recirulated thru a heater core with a 12 volt blower. This company charges $550.00 for one and I think they could be build for little or nothing. I have a three year old kid and he needs some cooling in the cabin, but I don't see $550.00 in one. Just looking for some help! thanks

Guys this is a mini swamp cooler and not an AC unit. I own one and they will only work in very low humidity 15% or less. I cant even use it in late August because of monsoon season and high 25% humidity. right now it works well filled with cooler runoff mixed with ice but for Oklahoma I think you are SOL sorry.

Re: 12 VOLT Cabin Air/Conditioner
Just bought a Cruisair carry-on hatch AC last weekend for a mere $100. Not bad for a $800 unit, plus it works most excellant! :evilb: Might look for one of them used. I see them for $400 as an average for used.
