While these engines on his website are intended for drag racing applications, Sonny Leonard has a much larger part in the high performance marine engine history than alot of people know about (including me until about three months ago). From what I've been told, he worked with and helped develop the original Merc Racing high HP engines. Maybe Craig Barrie or someone else who is "in the know" can fill us in on the details of how it all went down back in the day.

I've only ridden in my Top Gun (which has Sonny Leonard 1200 quad rotor engines) one time, but it was a ride that I will never forget. The torque that was generated by the engines was unbelievable..I've never been pinned back in a seat in a boat like that! :eek: :D :evilb:

From the info on his website, it looks like he isn't doing too bad in the drag racing world!! :cool:
