I had Debbie tighten down the covers on the boats at home, though I don't think we'll get anything there, but then again, that's what I thought with Charlie last year.

Cuda,
As you know, you can never be too prepared. Our shutters went up 4x's last year, all a month after closing. In all Charlie was basically the only threat for us (Bonita Springs).

Unforunately others are still reeling from last year

Its not gonna be pretty I can tell you that if it hits Pensacola. I spent almost 3 months there with Jason and there was TONS upon TONS of damage there. A friend of mine said it the best I believe.. he called it wholesale destruction. Should it hit that area, or anywhere really badly(which is a gurantee at this point) I will be headed up to the area with my bobcat and gear to help out. Jason has already called me and said he was going to come down with his loader and is possably looking at a F650 to lease and bring that with him. If someone up there should be hit directly, give me a call and I can help start the cleanup process. 407-463-9664 (cell).

It's bad when your whole state is in the path of a storm.
Gary and the boys got the race boat and the rest of the Nichols team on the road to Birmingham this afternoon. We're just sitting here at Fire/Rescue getting ready to ride out another one and watching a cloudless night and flat seas...you know the quiet before the storm. Nothing like finally getting your station roof fixed from last year and putting it to the test already. Not to wish anything bad on someone else, but we're hoping for a some crazy currents and a 90 degree turn to the west.
Best wishes to the folks on the western side of Fla getting some nasty weather right now, be safe and hold on...we sure are!!

it is slowing down a little as it kicks the living $hit out of Cuba.Maybe it will calm down a little before it visits Orange Beach this time. You can't find gas ,ice, propane, etc. in Orange Beach now . We are stocked up & ready to ride it out again....if not ,I'm going to visit magicfloat on Smith Lake!!!Rick

Been raining pretty hard down here off and on since around five pm. Couple of real "gully washers". No wind to speak of though.
