Do you have a picture of the boat? My cousin has a '05 Top Gun T/S with 525EFI and he says it runs 86mph with 32's.

Thumbs up Re: Top Gun 39 Unlimited or Nor-Tech or Outerlimits?

I Have A 39 Super Vee W/ 600 Sci's. Accelerates Like A Rocket Tops Out At 96 Mph With 5 Blade Props And Cost A Lot Less Than A Top Gun Twin Step. I Would Check It Out Before You Make Your Final Decision. Give Randy A Call At Fast-boats He Can Help You Out.

Sorry, but that really is irrelevant since they have been building boats for decades longer than most.

Sorry, I meant prop size. He is running stock 32p 4 blades. That seems to be the prop that all the 525efi Top Gun T/S run unless you run a 6 blade. What were on the boat you tested?

As a Cigarette customer I am glad they continue to update the boats. Things get sour and customers go elsewhere when you don't change anything. If everything stayed the same what would be any incentive to buy a new boat?

Most of Nortechs' boats are too new to need a redesign. If Nortech is around for 30+ years, I hope that they will continue to redesign to keep up with the competition. I have no doubt they will.

I suspect the big difference between the 600 and the 525 is going to be midrange acceleration. Doesn't seem like they are getting a very big top end difference, 3-4mph in most of the applications I have read about. I'm still trying to decide which engines to put in the new ride. It would be nice to have the added midrange punch of the 600s, but I'm still trying to justify the price difference between the 525s and 600s.

Do you know what your 39 would run top end at with 525s?

Just wondering, what type of boat are you looking to buy?

I HAVE HEARD THAT THE DIFFERENCE IS ABOUT 4 TO 6 MPH DEPENDING ON THE PROPS YOUR SPINNING. TO ME TOP END IS IMPORTANT AND WITH SOME 6 BLADES I THINK I CAN GET TO 99 MPH MAYBE EVEN 100 MPH BUT ALL TOP END AND NO MIDRANGE IS NOT WORTH IT. SO THE 600 SCI GIVE ME THE TOP END THAT I WANT AND HAVE A HELL OF A MID RANGE TO GO WITH IT. IS IT WORTH THE MONEY ? IT IS UP TO THE PERSON. BUT IF YOUR SPENDING THE TYPE OF MONEY THAT THE BOATS IN THIS THREAD COST WHAT THE HELL IS ANOTHER 25K !!
