I have a set of #6 Weisman converted dry sump with 1:24 gears and hering swept back skegs for $50,000.It includes the gimbals but not the inner ring plate.

I will second that, I know where a set of those are for 30k without the gimbals and with 1.35 gear sets.

Tranny's, transom assemblies, bell housings, some new engine mounts, a LOT of fiberglass work, 10-15k in labor.....

There's nothing like a Cig 42 with #6's but I would go shopping for a boat built this way instead of spending easily 40-50k in a conversion.

Also anyway you cut it you end-up with a butchered transom.

My very humble opinion. Notwithstanding good luck with the project if you go ahead, let us know how you end up.

other option is to wait on merc # 6 in a bravo application...ive got some imco xtreme sc now just have to be careful

yes bravo is making a #6 like bravo 1, x, xr, xz, now youll have a bravo 6.
