Att: New Hampshire Boaters
If you haven't been watching the Lake Winnipesaukee speed limit thread http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=103817 there is pending legislation for a speed limit on the lake and hearings are taking place soon. We need as many attendees as possible and hope all can make it.
Winnilakers,
The RR&D committee has schedule the House Bill 162 hearings this summer for the first 2 hearings.
The first 2 hearings are
Wednesday, June 29th at 7:00pm, Moultonborough Academy, 25 Blake Road, Moultonborough NH
Wednesday, July 6th at 7:00pm, Kingswood High School, 296 South Main Street, Wolfeboro, NH
What is House Bill 162?
To impose a speed limit of 45 mph during the day and 25 during the night on Lake Winnipeseaukee.
What can you do?
We need your attendance, you don't have to speak, just need you to be present. There will be a sign up form there to get your vote. If you would like to speak in opposition to HB162, please contact Jodi Grimbilas at
603-225-7170.
Hearings Etiquette
Please do not talk or make sarcastic sounds when speakers are talking. We know they can be challenging, but being professional goes a long way!!
Why oppose it?
There are no facts or statistical data that shows that a speed limit will make the lake any safer as the supporters state. They simply want to return the lake back to the Dirty Dancing Era.
Please pass onto everyone, bring as many people as you can

You may have seen the press lately, this is seriously being considered!!!!

From Rt 93
Exit 23. Turn right at the end of the ramp on to Route 104. Bear left on to Route 3 North. Turn right on to Route 3 East (State Route 25). Follow Route 25 (Whittier Highway) straight for about 9 miles. Turn right on to Blake Road and school is about a mile down on the right.
from Rt 16
take route 113 and it turns into rt 25
from Florida
I'll get you at Manchester Airport!
I'm on vacation that week and might stay on the boat in Wolfeboro if families house is occupied, happy to go for cocktails afterward.

Please Come
Please bring all of your friends and relatives so the halls are packed. Bring seperate cars if you can, so the parking lots are packed. It is critical that there are as many people as possible in attendance to every hearing.

Either way...for or against. It's just important that we have a crowd. Even people from Florida who oppose will be a help.

These Nancies will do the same they did last time at the state house - not show up. Make a lot of noise in the papers and on their little sail boat site and hope each other does the work. I'm fine as long as the head of Marine Patrol shows up again.
