27 Fountain....is only 25 foot at best. I'd go with a 25 AT I hear that they are real nice boats. What are your thoughts SOX?

I Love the Tantrum especially the one pictured below. I thought they stopped production on the 25, but I guess I was mistaken. Cool I hope they still make 'em in 2010 when I should have enough saved for a down payment on one

I'd never bag on his ride....
If I did it would just because I was jealous anyways.....
fiemedjoe, I'm just trying to say that if you want to tube, wakeboard, what ever, the Fountain is a little to high strung for that type of activity. It's no Mastercraft or Sea Ray, but then again you wouldn't expect a Master craft or Sea ray to run 70 mph. Each boat has it's trade offs. The first thing my dad said about my boat is where the rod storage and live well???????? What good is with out that stuff??????? He has no concept of what you would do with a performance boat, it makes no sense to him at all.

I would say go with a 25-27 Baja if your looking for something to pull tubes, skiers, wakeboarders, etc.. I bought a 25Baja last year and thats all we did with it. Its for sale if you want it: http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-5458.html Not to try to sell my boat but I saw the same speed out of it as the 27Fountains out here.

My two cents.................Get the Baja.
AND not because I own one. Baja quality has came along way in the past few years compared to the late 90s. But for some reason still gets a bad rap.
The conventional V of the Baja will drive and probably ride better pulling a tube and the rough stuff.
The Baja will have more room in the cockpit and cuddy.
The fountain will be faster of course.
Not knocking Fountain.....my dad had a 2003 42 which I throughly liked and enjoyed. But I felt there were some low quality aspects to it too.

Re: Question Fountain 27 or baja 275
Both boats are excellent choices, While I love the fountains and think they are a better performing boat, I picked the 275 cause it was more functional. It is still fast and blast to drive. As said before the 27 fountain is really more like a 25 and just does not have the space of the Baja.
Our 275 with 496HO can easily pull multiple tubes and a heavy load. Last weekend on our boat we had 8 adults, more than 1/2 a tank of fuel, and gear. Not once did we have any issue or lack of power or plaining time. We cruised over 100 miles at aournd 45mph. The boat even ran 62+mph on gps with all those people. I'm happy with my purchace.
