North Fork LI help needed
 

I'm trailering my boat out to greenport and need a place to store just the empty trailer when I'm out there.
Any ideas?

LOL!!!!
2-2.5hrs open running in my boat would take alot outta me.
Plus I dont carry enough fuel to make that trip(at least i'm not sure).
And I dont want to be dependent on the weather.

Quicker and cheaper to just trailer it out there.
Yesterday the hotel i'm stayin at said "no problem, plenty of room at the end of the parking lot," today... "can't take it, no way" bastards!

But I can keep it in Sag Harbor. So I'll just drive the truck to the southfork, dip boat in, park trailer and drive the boat to the north fork, while wife will drive the truck w/ the baby on the ferries.

But it woulda been a bit easier to take it right to greenport. Oh Well...

Wes, I'll be staying in Greenport, making daytrips w/ the wife and kids.
Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, Montauk, Mystic CT and so on.
Any other good ideas?

BTW wes, when's a good time for you to go out locally?

How long is the trailer? If it is 30' or less you can keep it in my driveway. I'm the next town east of Greenport.

Wes, I'll usually take a run to Steamboat Landing, since going to LaMottas, Louies or Dimaggios is not worth starting the boat.
I know your boat is out east, so I'm in for a local ride.

Hey Storm,we went to the Jamesport ramp last year,and then to clauidos,montauk,saybrook CT,nice tripp!! Im quite sure you could leave your trailer there,just back it up to big tree!! No one will be able to get the trailer like that!! The OLd Saybrook Inn is a nice place to stay,they even lend you bikes to ride into town!!! I think they have a web site The Montauk Yaht club is a nice place also,good luck!! tripps

I was at Louies on Sat. First time since the new owners.... What a waste. Food was tasteless. Was going to run over to City Island for dinner, but the wife was afraid of a little chop.
Stormrider, where in port do you keep your boat?

L21, I keep the boat at Dimaggios(capri east), which I think has the best food of the 3 in the harbor. Louies is good for a drink w/ decent atmosphere. LaMottas has my 93octane at their dock... friends of mine own the place... good for drinks and appys, and some live music every now and then.

Tripps, thanks for the input. We'll be staying in Greenport, Landsend Manor, as homebase, and making 1/2 day trips around the area.

Pure Energy has hooked me up w/ the trailer parking(thanks!).

So now just have to start planning the places to go. :D
