I need help purchasing a new ride. I have had my share of hydrstreams, STV's, & just sold my Allison. I'm looking to go a lil bigger. I wanted a cat somwhere between 25-30, or maybe a v-bottom up to 35-38. I basically am not sure what the h*ll I want. My father just purchased a new 353 fastech w/ 496's. I had been wanting a cat forever but after riding w/ him it has made me stop & think. I basically want some input from you guys w/ experience. Like w/ cats whats the diff between spectr & skater(my dream boat). How is insurance on the larger boats? I wanna get something used & try to keep it under 100K. Thanks for any advice you can give.

just went from a v-bottom to a cat. I started out small to get my feet wet and get some cat experence for insurance purposes. I boat a 27 foot eliminator with canopys and 525efi for power and I LOVE it. Will never go back to a v bottom. The 27 rides bettor than a 32 foot v bottom. MUCH bettor. can't compare the two. I like the eliminator because it has a nice cuddy. I think if you pay that much for a boat and not race it that it should have some features.
