I used to insure planes/pilots. I always had to keep in the laughter when a "new" pilot jumped into a twin plane and I had to tell him he could not get insurance because he had no experience. Duh! Underwriters, never too cautious.

There is a way your ins. broker can replace your existing V-bottom with a new cat. Don't cancel your V policy, just replace the boat. I don't know all the details but my broker did it for me. $5000 a year, full coverage. Ask your current broker about replacement.

don't have a vee.... i have a spectre now, looking skater/MTI route this winter...

I would be interested in how that works? speed calcs and stuff like that wouldn't work out... i hope your broker knows what he is doing, that is too nice of boat for it not to be insured properly...

ya no kidding....I'll check again tomorrow how he did it, they never asked the speed. The policy shows value and coverage limits, but I should go over the fine print again

Good luck with your purchase this winter...

Sean: Which Skater/MTI are you looking at? You may have heard that I'm in the same boat (no pun intended). BTW, are you coming down this weekend?
