we rebuilt the motor and it needs to run at 5500 rpm....how do you bypass the rev limiter...1990 vip king cobra which tops out at 4800 rpm....thanks for your help :)

You will very likely have to change out the Spitfire igniton for an aftermarket such and Crane , Mallory , or heaven forbid MSD . I have never heard of being able to change the the factory limiter on OMCs

yep thats what we were thinking as well....change it out. but, i have seen in another forum where the rev limiter is bypassed by tieing one wire with another and the third wire is connected with a diode to ground....thanks for the input.
