Venetian night in Chicago

Re: Venetian night in Chicago
Dan,
Sorry we missed you guys. My daughter got a little sick. We were out all day and the combo of the sun and waves did her in. We watched about five minutes of the fireworks after coming out of the river and then we went home. I'm glad in a way she was sick because I did not feel like fighting the crowds at the launch ramps after the fireworks. It was my wifes first time on Lk mich and she loved it and can't wait to go back out. We'll have to plan something in the future.
P.S. The new boat ran great and sure rode better than my old 24 Outlaw !!!!

Re: Venetian night in Chicago
Wally,
I did launch out of Diversey. No major problems. I did have an interesting drive down though. Because of my length I new I couldn't take Irving park all the way in, so I decided to go right on Clark st then a left on Diversey. Good plan but I didn't know the Cubs were having a game and also you cannot make a left from Clark to Diversey. Oh well I got alot of nice comments as I drove down Clark at 5 mph and I made the left onto Diversey anyways hoping no cops were around. We had a great day out there but my daughter got sick so we called it a night at around 9:40.That worked out fine because I beat the rush to the ramps after the fireworks. Thanks for taking my call. I just wanted to be sure I could get into Diversey because it had been so long since I was there, I couldn't picture it in my head.
I also ended up pulling a guy up the ramp there because his 4X4 was broke, he got his tires wet and there was no way he was getting up those ramps. I just hooked my tow strap to my trailer and his truck and pulled him right out. Gotta love the power of a diesel on roids !!!
Take care,
Dave

Re: Venetian night in Chicago
Dave, next time exit on California. Its a two lane exit ramp...stay to the left side.....you canonly turn right at the light.....when you do the VERY NEXT lights right there is Diversey so thats why you have to stage in the left lane. And then its a nice straight shot right down to the harbor. Glad everything worked out for ya (other then the sick kid )
