Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Nantucket is party central, forget about doing it in one day.
If you are 30 feet or less, you can berth at the town dock in Edgartown. But, there is no power or washrooms nearby. Washrooms/showers are a ten minute walk away. If these facts do not bother you, the town dock is my favorite spot. In Nantucket, the town dock is also the place to be. Does have power, and if you are less than 35 feet or so, you may luck out like we did and get a spot at the foot of the main street. Nantucket is second to none as a boating destination. I rate it #1, MV as #2 and Newport tied with Block Island as #3 boating destinations in the northeast. |

Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Restaurants: Oak Bluffs - "The Sweet Life", "37 Circuit Ave", Balance" Menemsha-"Home Port"(BYOB). Edgartown- "Seafood Shanty" Booze: Oak Bluffs- "Lamp Post", "Balance", "Rare Duck" ,"Lolas", "Sand Bar", "Tsunami"
Edgartown- "Seafood Shanty". Nude beach- Gay Head Beach. You guys will love it. Nantucket- Lots of bars and restaurants too. Go fishing on "Just Do It Too" fishing charters. |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Titan, are you taking the boat behind your truck on the ferry or running out from land? make a rez for the ferry asap.(not sure how big your boat is) Bring bicycles, great island for a ride.

Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Well here is the deal everyone!! I am leaving for the Vineyard on Wed Aug. 10. and staying to Aug 17.
We have rented a house in West Tisbury for the week. I really don't care about the marina's in the Vineyard but I am more concerned with the Ramps beacause I will be bringing the boat over the ferry. Have made reservations with the Woods Hole Ferry already... I have a list of ramps provided to me from the realtor but I am hoping Oak Bluffs will work for me. |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
As for the boat I am hoping to be taking delivery of my new 29 Progression. ????

Gl
You should come down for a day or two? We have room. This way they will get the full effect of the Motly Crew. Actually I am going with a true Republican crowd. That knows how to party. Even though they wear Polo. Don |

I know you have to pick your day but could a lunch trip be possible??? |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
35 to forty miles from Oak Bluffs to Nantucket as I read off the large scale chart, and we are talking open ocean here. It can get really nasty, really fast out there. Figure an hour there, double it to return, one hour plus for docking arrangements to be made/boats shuttled around (maybe you will be luckier) and a lunch run is not really practical. Three hours just for the run, two hours for lunch, two hours to run after your wives who will go nuts in the shops there, and I'd say why not shoot for the whole day?

Re: Martha's Vineyard????
So if Nantucket is not a good da trip where would you guys go for a day trip?????
Or where is a good spot to go swiming and hang out? Also could any of yourecomend a good spot to travel to for lunch? Thanks Don |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
head in to Hyannis for a day
|
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
I stayed in Hyannis 2 years ago but did not bring the boat. Is there a town dock to tie up to for lunch. If I remember correct one of the restuarnts accross the street from the Ferry was really good!!!

Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Also where would it be possible to get 91 Octane fuel up there?
|
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Will the 29 be ready in a week? I hope so.
For a day trip, Newport would be fun. |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
I think Oak Bluffs has high octane, can't remember. Etown has it for sure. Problem: we waited 40 minutes to get gas once, as it is a busy place, last stop before Nantucket etc. Good lunch spots? All over! <gg>
We liked a place about a block from the town dock in Etown, as the deck is high up and from it you can see much of the harbor and village. |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Easy there guy!!
Just be ready when the priceless princess comes out of that building in a day or so? |
Re: Martha's Vineyard????
Anyone going to be out in the area between the week of the 10th to 17th of August PM me and I will let you know how I can be reached. After I leave home I will not have computer internet access....
I hope to be using the boat if it is decent I would like to run the beast... |
