The Florida Powerboat club is going to the Bahamas. Leaving out Friday morning early and returning on Sunday or Monday depending on your preference. Should be a good time. :drink:

OPBA (Offshore PowerBoat Association) is doing a "Fun Run" Saturday, Aug. 6th. Based out of St. Pete, the run will run down to Mar Vista (about a third of the way down Longboat Key, for lunch, then head back up to Eggmont Key for the annual "Sir Boom A Lot" contest, who has the loudest stereo. For more info go to their website. Also in the Boat Club Forums at the bottom of the Forums page.

St. Pete/Tampa members are going to hook up in front of Tierre Verde Marina in St. Pete (northwest of the Sunshine Skyway bridge for chart reference), Sarasota members hooking up at the Hyatt Basin in Sarasota, both groups converging on Mar Vista around 1/1:15 or so for lunch, then run back up to Eggmont Key.

To find Tierra Verde, follow the Sunshine Skyway bridge, locate the first exist that would take you out to St. Pete Beach, about halfway out you will see a turn off to Ft. Desoto Park and Tierra Verde, the Marina is by the bridge. Launch ramps at Ft. Desoto Park.
