Re: Canvas Cleaners around Milwaukee
Tommy, Earlier this summer I cleaned and waterproofed my sunbrella covers myself. I first wetted the cover down real well then I made up a solution of woolite detergent (liquid} in a five gallon bucket and with a wide soft bristle scrub brush , cleaned the cover. I then rinsed it real well ,let it dry well, then used a garden pump sprayer and put two coats of waterproofing on it. A few years ago i used an electric paint sprayer that worked ok also. The secret to a good job is getting a good clean surface, first , before you spray on the waterproofing. If you need any help ,call me . Frank

took mine to a coin-op cleaners and put in a big commercial washer, ran on a delicate setting and used woolite then same as Frank. I did research and 303 products is the way to go, recommended by Sunbrella.

Thanks Guys....I think you have both answered my question. This is my todays project, or I should say it is Kathy's project!
What do you recommend for waterproofer???? LT |
Re: Canvas Cleaners around Milwaukee
303 High Tech Fabric Guard / water repelant. Much better than Starbrite that I have used in the past. I'd recomend buying the 32oz spray bottle and not a bigger container that you'd have to use your own sprayer, it can really clog up a sprayer and I think theirs is better suited.
Good luck |
