Lime away works great, 50/50 vinegar and water for water spots.

Use to use Sno Bol a couple times a yr on the whole boat whenever it felt and looked like it was getting that water deposit build up and white stuff on the drive. On the drives I just used it straight from the bottle and watched that nasty chit disolve. On the boat, I squirted some on a wet sponge and wiped it down, again, just disolved the nasty. No harm done, just don't wipe your eyes.

For stainless steel, use Barkeeper's Friend. It keeps my 114 stainless steel laundry machines sparkling.

My exhaust tips and prop look like chit.

I started on the second one tonight though and only did it for about ten minutes. Then I coated it and I'm going to let it sit until tomorrow. The stuff seems to get most of it out rather quickly but it's the little spots that are tougher than the rest and take a little longer.
My tips are thrashed too and tomorrow I'm going to hit 'em with it.
