Serengeti Stratas are a way nicer lens than the drivers but the wind protection or lack there of was killing me. Get over 70mph and the tears would start flowing and blinding me. Switched to MJ Volcanoes and love em in the boat. No More Tears. Excellent glare reduction. No more eye aches after a day on the water. Sure they are heavier than plastic lenses but I prefer the optical clarity of glass. I will replace these ones with another set when they are tired.

I just bought a pair of Onos. Roland Martin was wearing them on a fishing show and bragging about them. There a glass lense with a small bi-focal at the bottom. If you need to wear reading glasses these are great on the boat. They help when trying to see the GPS. www.onostradingcompany.com

The only problem with polarized lens is it is harder to judge the waves due to glare reduction...you can't judge the surface of the water since you can see through it with polarized lens.

Polarized lenses are the ONLY sun lenses that:

Reduces Glare:
Provides safe, relaxed vision

Improves Vision:
Increases visual clarity, depth and color perception

Maintains Healthy Eyes:
Provides 100 percent UV protection

Once considered a specialty lens that was geared for activities such as fishing, boating, and other water and snow sports, polarized lenses are now the preferred choice by the patient as well as by the ophthalmic professional as the leading lens for sunglasses.

Polarized lenses are made from a special polarizing film that is applied in the factory on the front surface of the lens. This film allows light rays to be filtered, consequently improving the vision in strong light conditions. Polarized lenses will protect you from UV rays, glare and intense light. In combination with a reflection-free coating, polarized lenses are ideal for fishing and driving.
