There are a lot of hull cleaners at the dealers, just avoid the on/off types that have the muratic acid in them. Muratic acid is good if you have REALLY heavy build up. Just a yellow line, many of the hull cleaners without the muratic acid work just fine. Slimy grimy is one of many.... you can mix it in one of those 1-2 gallon marine sprayers, makes it easy to apply.

My neighbor, just around the corner from the Narrows, just used Spray Nine on his hull and it came out shining. he had been in for a week waiting for his lift to be repaired.

It seems that acids take these stains off. I wonder if citric acid would work? Maybe a little orange juice? or Uric acid found in Piss. Piss it off!!

i find "iron out" works great for stain and is much cheaper and easier to use than on-off...you can get it at home depot
mix a little in water and it's like painting the boat...no elbow grease req'd...

I use spray nine for the black stuff on the transom during the early season, works great!

What department at home depot do you find the "iron out"? Right in with all the cleaners and mop stuff?

We use FSR (Fiberglass Stain Remover) or Y-10 to get the stain off. Last year I put a coat of teflon wax and it stayed white for several months (just haven't done it this year yet).
