Welcome :D We are planning a group trip to Ireland the week after Christmas. I don't think any boating will be going on just a lot of drinking. :drink:

How is the boating there?

Hi Padraig,

Our main base is in Hodson Bay Lough Ree near Athlone Co. Roscomon.

Our main Coastal Play Zone though is off of the Aran Islands in Galway / Connemara...Nice 20 foot swells.. Perfect 50 knot RIB territory.

Over here we are more into offshore speed records rather than racing.

The black and orange RIB you see at the top of our website www.powerboat.org was our round Ireland record boat. A 10 metre RIB with twin 300 hp Cummins diesels and surface drives.. Flat out 70 Knots or 50 knots in anthing that the west coast could throw at us. The crew of 4 (two teams of two) stay aboard for the full 24 hours of the trip acting in turn as driver and navigator ...two hours of each followed by four hours of "rest".

Best wishes,

Stuart
