Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
Called the only place on the lake with race fuel today, its already over 8.00$/ gallon and expected to go up by the shootout, Have source for 110,113 octane locally for OSO members or anyone else who needs it, Need to know how much everyone needs by tomorrow. comes in 55 gal. drums unless we have a bunch of people needing it, then I can get tanker, substantially less than on the water. post here how much you need and I'll secure it for you guys, just trying to help out members from getting reamed on the water. thanks Wiggler. If you have need for 116 an get it as well. Let me know

I can use a drum of 110.

Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
I will try to fill 110 leaded in Chicago. A little short on time. Is there anywhere on land in Ozarkland to buy 110 if I run out of time here in Chicago? Where would the 55 gallon drums be located?

Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
I'll have a drum for you Lube. My Shop is just a few miles from Dam on 54. Its right on your way into lake, can just pull in and fill er up. Mark, there is no where to get 110 on land at all. Actually I reserved all the drums my source has, just to keep everyone from running out. race fuel is very scare at Loto, don't know why but is. you guys let me know when your coming into lake and I'll meet you at shop. Real nice of ya Jim.
I might need some. Not sure though. It depends on how much I burn on Friday. I might take 150 gallons, just don't know for sure. I haven't been there, so I don't know how many miles I can put on the boat in 2 days. Chances are I'll need half a tank (150gal). 116 octane for me Thanks, Dan |

At most of the airports I have been to lately, the best they have is 100LL. Doug

Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
big thunder has 116 turbo blue is currently over 8$/gallon, not very good quality fuel. that is the only place on the water to get 110 or over. no where on land can you get any race fuel. I use only NP Racing fuels , which I consider the best. I have 108, 110, and 116 available, have bought all the stock the area rep has, If anybody wants more let me know as he is making another run tomorrow. Have Drums that got deliveredd today and more tomorrow. so far have 30 barrels confirmed, ordered the last 6 barrels of 110, today, he has some 116 left but not much. 108 red is 320, barrel, 110 is 350 barrel and 116 wont know price until tomorrow. will check my thread in the am after that wont be able to get anymore. thanks wiggler

Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
I am not 100% sure but as I remember when I was buying the 100LL at the Airstrip near my house they used a different octane rating that made the aviation fuel near 116 octane and with lead which would increase the knock factor to 120 or so.
I know that I ran it and was very satisfied and I know today I can purchase it for $3.80 per gallon at the airstrip with a signed paper saying it is for aviation only (some FAA crap) |
Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
3.80 gallon doersmt exsist. good luck at the airport.

Re: Who needs Race Fuel for Loto Shootout?
Aircraft engines are essentially low engine speed, constant throttle applications that must work well at very low atmospheric pressure and temperature. Aviation gasolines are blended to work well only under these very specific circumstances, and do not perform as well under high rpm and high load applications.
i clipped that from the sunoco website... |
