Can I run 30" Yamaha's without JackPlates?

I know this is a nooby question...

My 30' boat has 25" yamaha outboards currently. I'm repowering. It was running good with 25" motors, they are just old and tired.

Can I run the new 30" 250hp outboards without jack plates?

What would happen if I did?

What kind of problems might occur if any?
This is new to me.

well lowering mine 2" on the jackplates slowes me down 15MPH If I go all the way down 5" it kills me aver 45MPH. if your boat was designed for 30's it would not have been built with 25's ... jackplates are cheap.. plus the resale on 30's will suck cause noone runs them:drink:
