I live just south of Daytona beach....This little Storm/cane Ophelia is a bit more than you guys would expect.Today was trash day..I haven't sen my can since this morning...It's flat gone. You can hear the wind push the front door in and my boat cover is not gonna take 3days of this. Our worst Hurrincae damage last year was from our weakest storm BUT it was one that lasted about 14hrs at about 80 plus MPH...It tore **** up eventually. This one is gonna be around for 3 days!!...eventually 50 mph winds will get the best of stuff.

It has been off/on rain since monday...flooding lots of places. This morning I go to work and I saw Jesus..and he said "I'm outta here".Not to mock but the rain has been sideways since this morning and the trees are bent over almost all day.A lot **** is closed around here..Schools and such.Of course my ass had to stay at work.

They sure are being hush-hush about this little pest but as far as I am concerned you would think things are fixing to drop hard.I've seen several Cane's of over Cat3 that didn't do this much pre-show.There is **** all over the streets and has only increased since I got home a few hours ago.....My guess would be 40-50mph sustained for 20-30 minute periods.

If this thing stays where it is you are gonna see much damage come this weekend....$20 I will have to work tommorow.People are actually buying cars/trucks in this crap.

My folks live in Deltona and just came back from Daytona this evening. I understand it's been raining over there for 3 days straight with some pretty respectable wind gusts....This storm is just lazily meandering out in the Atlantic. I've seen the forecast track go from Northwest to north to east to ???
Where it's going to end up, nobody knows.

I just got to Daytona on Tues night, ill be here for the next 4 months. This is not a good welcoming. I put my bike in a secured mini storage unit on its trailer in case of minor flooding. i have room in there for my Jeep also if it gets to that. Its been non stop since i got here.
Im ahving bad luck with hurricans this year. When i went to Ft lauderdale, i left cuz of katrina, got the last flight ou, didnt even get to use my boat. now this. Hopfully i'll have some good days this fall. My friends back in boston are laughing at me for leaving boston for good weather and getting nothing but rain while it nice up there.

rant over,
There seems to be a pretty high storm surge here now.

Part of A1A at Flagler Beach is closed due to the dunes washing out, and up against the highway.
