composite material??

I am looking for some type of light weight material for some fabrication. I am needing it in the ball park of 1 1/2" - 1 3/4"
thick If I couldn't get it that thick I could use two sheets of 3/4"
and bond them together to make 1 1/2" I am needing this in
a 4'x8' sheet or 2 sheets if it is 3/4'. or if they do not come that large I could possibly use some smaller sheets because what I will be making will be made in 4 pieces and then bonded togather to make one piece. I had some sort of plastic type of material here at my shop that was black and I also had some that was white. The black seemed to suit my needs more because it was a little more agressive on the outside for bonding. It came from a boat manufacturer, and they use it to reinforce their decks. If anyone knows what this might have been or know something that might work for me I would greatly appritiate the info. Thanks, Scott

Check out what Nida Core has, the good people of OSO turned me onto it. If you ask for product info on their site they will send a complete sample package to you. Nice stuff, strong and very very light.
