i couldn't care less if somebody wants to load up there 5/6 person cat with 8 people sitting on each others lap (and that doesn't mean you have a seat just because you are sitting down) and go flip their boat.... i still don't buy that an 10' wide offshore cat with a 2' tunnel at the transom and 3 foot tunnel at the bow, at 45 MPH, could roll with a 3' wake hitting it .... turning or not.... i have seen too many offshore races where they do that very thing at over 100 4 times a lap...(with the same hull)... i do believe that the people who didn't have a seat could be thrown out at that speed, but that doesn't explain all 8 going in and the boat ending upside down...

my point is there is always a reason something happens, i don't think we have heard the reason yet with this story...

Ha! See? With the help of Sean H, Stephen Hawking and T2X, we have all discovered the secret of the universe. (Except we still don't know the story behind the Cig...)

Yeah, steps down to the cooler where Leland kept all his beer!

Oh, and the ones so he can see over the steering wheel. I think that's called a stepstool, though.

Being on a 36 skater, I can see how one could flip over at 45 mph. I think all the variables have to come together though. If they were at speed it probably would have just glided over the waves.

Usually too much negative trim, then dip a sponson which get's it up on it's side, then the hook and roll.

I didn't feel comfortable turning at 45 mph in choppy NYC harbor water in the boat I was in.

Come on physics man. You have ridden in cats and know it is alot easier to turn in 3 foot seas when you are on top of the waves at speed (ie 65+ mph) than when you are crashing through them at 45.

Also wakeboard boats are the worst about pulling in front of you and not looking. I have them do that all the time. This just sounds like one of those things that happen in boats.
