I actually don't fault them for making money but all that i posted was in 1999 and so off the mark with pricing

we at SOTW hire the photographer and the helicopter ourselfs then offer the pics for sale
i think our pricing is fair

Ya, I think a bazooka or rocket launcher would be a nice option on our boats :D Trick Marine, add those masterpieces in your inventory... I am really surprised with your story... I hope no OSO members will encourage those guys in the future... :( That is no business, that is stealing...

I fvcking hate boatpix!! I went through the same bs.

I look up one day and this chopper is down low snapping shots of us. I get the package with the pics with a friggin bill. I sent the shtty pics back and told them to shove it. It pisses me off though that they do this unsolicited and them make it your responsibility to respond and return the pics. :mad:

I've had their pics sent to me twice, but each time it was after they sent a letter saying they had pictures and asked if I wanted them to send them with the full terms and conditions spelled out. They've never just sent the pictures unsolicited. I had to sign and send them the request back to get the pics. I did buy one pic (a pic from a pier that was only $50 or $60), and sent the rest back, both times probably 4 or 5 months after.

I'd call them (or better yet, send a traceable letter or email) and have them produce your request with your authorization to send them. If they can't do that, go after them. How expensive the pics are is immaterial (admittedly very pricey, but not everyone is going to rent a helicopter and photographer), they need to prove that they didn't send them unsolicited. If they can do that, you need to be able to prove that you sent them back.

Not taking their side, just relating my experience with them...

Write or call the Better Business Bureau, and the State Attorney General office and report them. Actually everyone who has chimed in here with a complaint should.

Hell, call Channel 7 too "Help me Harold", to do an investigative piece - maybe get them on TV for some lousy exposure!

1. ) You have to ask for picture proofs
or BoatPix won't sent them.
Online or in writing

2.) They can't get addresses from the DMV
with your boat registrations.

You can get one address, in person.
(If a boat is found, stolen, missing circumstances.)

3.) Our pictures were perfect and 1/3 of that
price.

well than it is simple, make up some invoices, mark them 90 days late, just say boat pix is delinquate in paying you and report them, and do it once or twice a month until they see what it is like to be screwed with.
