I almost bought a 27 avanti from him, Thinking back I dont know why, I think their boats are not the best looking ones other than the 33 that is a pretty much dead copy of the cig Bullet.
He used to paint them the same paint schemes as cig too. He is just not a reputable guy to deal with, look around, seems everyone has some sort of messed up experience with him whether they bought a boat from him or just went prop kicking.

Stay away from him, and that might be easy cause if he's not wearing silver braclets by now he will be soon.
He is a big a** hole to, and gives a bad name to Hi-Perf boating.

i never dealt with them directly BUT i had a 22 Avanti in 02-03. i used the boat both in the Barnegat Bay as well as ran her from the Manasquan to the Barnegat Inlets on numerous occasions and for what its worth had her out in 4-6's a few times and she took everything i threw at her. she was powered by a 454 mag with a bravo drive. wasnt the fanciest but i cant complain. AGAIN I NEVER DEALT WITH THE MFG DIRECTLY. JUST MY .02

I heard through the grapevine that DF no longer owned Avanti; that he'd been bought-out by the folks that build Egg Harbor Yachts(Ira Trocki et al). Just heard it...not confirming it.

There was one parked on a local car lot last summer for sale, not far from my house. I could see the waves in the glass driving by it at 50 mph.

Never liked the ones from NJ. I have always liked the ones that were built here in Miami in the early 80's. There 26 was a little bad boy. I rode a 42 ( i think) from the NJ company and it was super slow and rode like crap ( mind you we were in the Delaware river.
