V-hull design at 200? WHY?

After reading about Ben coming over to CIG, and a few mentions of OLD speed records, DOES ANYONE REALLY WANT TO GO 200 MPH in a mono hull? I mean, the CAT is designed for that and it is much safer and better handling at those speeds, SO WHY?

375stinger With all due respect. It sounds as though you have never ridden in a big cat at speed. A ride may change your mind

Because cats are airplanes trying to stay in the water. V's are boats trying to get out of the water. Not even apples to apples.

Since Reggie wants to be the king of speed, makes you wonder when he will build his first production cat.

Also makes you wonder if Cigarette ever considered a cat?

You're kidding, right? I have seen quite a few pictures, films of Cats doing a daffy flip in the air. Sure looked like they wanted to fly to me....

Fountain1fan...how you been? While the video looks like its a rock steady ride. Looks though a camara lens can be decieving, Benny said, they had their hands full keeping it running straight and level. As to why, Ego, Fame, any number reasons, because no one else has done it. Wasnt too many years ago 100 MPH in a V was unheard of. Who will push Reggie next? Will Mike and Co. come back with a boat to challenge? What other V bottom boat builder is even close. Will Cigarette, get back in the game, they would have a lot of ground to make up, even with Benny Robertsons, knowledge. It makes for good old fashion name calling and butt whipping and in the end, what we all hope, is that everyone stays safe.
