Parts distributers beware
 

I am sure that this has happened to some of you.
You buy a hot rod part for your boat it does not fit.
you had contacted the manufacturer and they gave you the wrong info several times. You pay for shipping back and forth.
Each time the shop you got it from starts to avoid your calls
after all its not there fault. You look like a idiot boat sits part less .
MSD this is for you thanks for taking my money
and letting me sit ,ten calls no return call. If this is policy
you will loss customers.
Other folks waiting don't take it call em complain or they will
not fix it.

Thanks offshore within 15 min off post MSD called me and is overnighting my parts not sure if its luck or the part gods are in my favor today.

What kind of part was it ?

Why did you buy direct from MSD?

OSO works, I have used the power before. We have that problem several times, and I am a witch on the phone until they cover shipping charges and get us the new part with expedited service. I was on the phone with CP Performance and mentioned that I had just read a thread about them on OSO and I would be posting our experience, in record time the parts were here along with a free tee shirt :D

On the other hand with some people like Trick you don't even have to ask. Once we got a very small part wrong, it might have even been our fault. Ian said just ship regular service we are not in a hurry, but Fred being Fred had the part here the next day :D .

What really fries me is when you order a part overnighted and then it is wrong, they usually don't want to refund the overnight fee.

Also whenever possible if you have a UPS or Fed X number have them ship it collect, many companies bump up the shipping charges from what it actually costs them.

I find almost all companys mark up the shipping cost.There discounts vary :(Also the bigger ones self insure. and charge you for the insurance also.
