Talked to Jeff Jasby
 

I just talked to Jeff. He is starting to get things back together. He had several feet of water in the lower level of his home. He has gutted the lower level and treated it for mold. He is not starting the rebuild process of that level yet since the materials are scarce and really expensive.

He is living on the 2nd and 3rd levels of his home for now. His parents house was just above the flood line, so it sounds like they faired well.

I think he feels pretty lucky right now since others around the area are living in tents or have just plain left.

He remains without TV, computer, and some of the everyday stuff we take for granted. He has plenty of things that occupy his time other than those.

All in all, he sounds to be in pretty good spirits given the life altering event he went through.

He says hello to all the OSOers. One of these days he will find time to hook up the computer and get back on.

I work with a neighbor of Jeff's. She told me about things he did to help others in the community that make him a hero in my book.

bump...I would be willing to pitch in to have some building supplies sent to Jeff. find out what he needs and if we can buy it in an area where its not so expensive we can get more for him. anyone have a way to get it down there to him?

This is good news from what we first heard it sounded like he lost the house, and what a house it is. I have a feeling Jeff is probably giving more than taking. Hope to see him on the board again soon.

I asked about what he needs. Funny at this point he seems happy to have water and food available again. He commented on having tons of FEMA people around now. I got the feeling getting around the area is still cumbersome.

Bulldog, my guess is what you heard is right on. Sounded to me like Jeff pretty much secured his home, then has gone on to help others, figuring his home and family are in OK shape for now.

I suspect it will be a little while before he gets back on this site, but he did comment that he misses the "dialogue" here.

good to hear, but I still think a load of 2x4's and some drywall would help him out, maybe a few rolls of romex...any others agree?

Glad to hear he is OK... houses can be fixed. I'm in for a repair trip down :cool:
