Call every Hotel and Motel. Some are already sending out cancellation orders due to all the damage from the storm. :(

GoodLuck

Try Key West Susie at [email protected] Her office # is 305 295 6366 or cell 305 766 1414. She is the best local travel agent and is really connected. If anyone can help it is her.
Good luck.

Bob~

I hope you don't end up with the same problem I did.

I also dealt with Susie and she seems very nice...until I confronted her about this. She told me I shouldn't have said anything and just showed up! Luckily, Drew (OSO member Blackbuca) had an extra room that he let us have.

Anyway, I suggest everyone contact their hotels/B&B/rentals again just to make sure everything is ok with their reservations. I'm sure with all the mess going on from Wilma it will be even busier around there then usual!

Thank you for your advise Mrs. W. My crew and I have used Susie several times a year for over three years now and never had a bad experience. I have a confirmation on Hyatt letterhead and I will be showing up with it in hand. I am sure that there are lots of horror stories as a result of Wilma and hope everything works out for you and all OSO members.

Re: Key West Help

I would recommend trying some B&Bs in Old Town. I have a unit in Truman Annex and thankfully we are fine. I just had a giant tree crush my two mopeds. As the Truman Annex is on one of the higher parts of the island, thankfully we did not flood. Other parts of the island were not as lucky. I also have own a Sunrise Suites unit (the other side of the island) while my unit is fine, two other units had the windows blown out and are out of commission. Other losses include all the cars, elevators, laundry fitness room. I'm told we faired very well compared to other hotels. All and all I consider myself very very lucky. Even though all the hotels are still standing, many have limited inventory and services. I'm sure everyone will do there best to prepare as tourism is the lifeblood of the island. Normally I would recommend looking up the keys but they got hit as well. So start with old town and work your way out.

Called awhile ago to the Hilton, thankfully we're all set, and unfortunately the place is sold out from what they told me.

If the phones aren't working by monday, I may go to KW and check some of the hotels out myself. Marc, what is the name of your hotel?
Please pass the word that THE ROADS ARE NORMAL.......and by race week the gas situation will be back to normal.
Miami and Broward county are the only ones still having gas problems mainly because of power to the pumps.
They are delivering new cars to the dealers in KW and the rental cars to the agencies. As per KW citizen this morning.

Pat..Thanks..

The hotel is called the Hotel Key West and is on 3850 N. Roosevelt. I belelieve there is a Comfort INN right up the street.

A few race teams stayed in this area last year. I stayed at the Holiday Inn but it is now torn down to make condos. There are about a dozen mid range $$$120+ hotels along the the street. This used to be Quality inn and the Comfort inn is right up the street.

Thanks again
