Is Powerquest out of business?

There's some talk on the PQ forum that they may have shut down and/or been sold - anyone have any definite info?

In what i am gathering that ,if they go in the directiion and do it right with a plan,They could be a serious player in this performance boatng industry..Just have to wait till this transaction of new ownership is completed..

Re: Is Powerquest out of business?

This will be intersting to follow. I have some friends that got the royal shaft from the soon to be past owners. They are still in the middle of the mess too. I wonder what the new owners will do about the situation.

That was a quick purchase and sale. I thought PQ was just sold a year or two ago??

Re: Is Powerquest out of business?

Yes it was, back in 2001.. Poor management was at fault here..No business plan to layout..Mistakes were made..Too many good experienced people were let go to cut costs..ETC..

Wait a minute.... WAIT A MINUTE!!!! Let's take a closer look at this....

1. Performance boat company is sold;
2. Rumors that the new owner(s) have deep pockets;
3. Talk of making PQ a serious player in the performance market;
4. New owners out of Chicago;
5. Parent company is TMBI industries - "T" as in "Thad"?!?!?!?!!?!?!!?

:eek: :eek: :eek:

Holy crap, PQ is the New Apache!!!!!!!!!!

Thats TMB Industries out of Chicago ..
They acquired Grand Craft from Dick Sligh in May this year.......

Hope they get some people in there that call a powerboat something besides a "unit" ....

Re: Is Powerquest out of business?

Spoke to few at the factory today....all is fine. They are just in the finals of where one stops and the other begins. Next week they will be up and running...fulfilling the new orders. Just like the other 2 times when they sold.

That would be the best thing to happen to PQ in a very long time!!!

Re: Is Powerquest out of business?

Well TMB bought Grand Craft out of Holland, MI. Looks like Sligh is getting out of everything. Dyno, what do you think about a ride today, 10-12s and very steep, looks like a good day for the fender boat. :D

The only boat company in Chicago with deep pockets is BBG.
