Well another week has gone by and I haven't made any progress with the guy who crashed my trailer
. As a matter of fact, he won't even pick up my calls (even with the nunber blocked). I did talk to Brett who was very helpful and is willing to try to do what he can, but ultimately winning doesn't mean I will get the money
The transporter that I had originally contacted still won't provide his info, and is playing the angle that he was just giving me a refferal. What BULL****, he clearly implied the guy worked for him!!!! In another week I need to pick up and pay for the new trailer
Well thanks for listening to me rant.

P.S. If anyone here has used Wayne Loy out of Sarasota, Fl. for transport and has a bill or invoice with a DOT# I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!!! If anyone has ever had any dealings with C.D. Murphy out of Sarasota I would sure like any contact info you may have. Thanks again.

Start a new thread with his name in the title.
Not sure how many will notice it at this point in the this thread.

Most scumbags have dedicated large quantities of time making themselves judgement-proof. Even if you get a judgement you then have to collect it.
From what I can piece together you called someone but wrote the check to someone else? Then it is a referral. The actual hauler is operating illegally but there's likely not going to be any ramifications for that other than him coming into compliance to continue operations. Court is going to be a waste of time most likely. More importantly, a waste of money. If they are operating "underneath" the law, they likely have all the bases covered.Uncollectible judgements are worse than no judgement at all- why get a couple grand deeper?
Is your insurance not covering this?
Bottom line- before someone pulls your boat (or does anything for you- especially if they come onto your property) get an insurance certificate with you named as additional insured- then call the carrier/agent and confirm
