What they call "Go Fast Boats" and what we think they are completely different. These things are bare hulls with plywood decks They load the stuff and 50 gallon drums on board with hoses running to the outboards. If an engine fails or the fuel runs out they kick them overboard. If pursued they will often drive them onto shore get out and run away.
We have two 43's we sold to the US State Dept which in turn gave them to the Bahamian Police. These are powered w/ Trip Yanmar 315's and top out at 65MPH full of fuel. Not much shooting going on so their tactict is to use the bow and ram the motors off the drug boats.

That's true, shoot or ram the back of the boat. The Supreme Court said that we're not supposed to shoot fleeing criminals in the U.S. anymore.

Outside of the U.S. is a different story...

James,
Thanks for asking. The Chief Inspectors came by our display at the boat show last week. I asked how the boats were holding up. The first has 900 hrs the second has over 700. They said and I'm not bragging that the boats have no signs of stress. Keep in mind that they usually go out on 600 mile tours at a time, no matter what the sea conditions.
Not sure I'd want to post current pictures. I don't think they know what a can of wax looks like.
One thing they did tell me that in the Bahamas, sea borne activity has fallen.

U should see some of the boats they have here in St. Thomas, comical to say the least. There is one guy who has a nice new Midnight Express with quad 275 verados tho...very kickass boat, I see it all the time at the gas dock at American Yacht Harbor.
