Monday November 07, 2005 GLEN COVE, N.Y. (AP) A fire damaged at least three boats at a 250-slip marina on the north shore of Long Island on Monday. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The fire at the Jude Thaddeus Glen Cove Marina originated aboard a 45-foot boat and spread to several others at around 12:30 p.m., a spokeswoman at the Glen Cove City Hall said. The flames burned through the mooring ropes of the 45-foot Bertram sport boat, setting it adrift and into other boats, spreading the fire. The Glen Cove fire department and Nassau Marine Bureau responded to the scene, as did the mayor, Mary Ann Holzkamp. |

Re: 4 Boats Fire Damaged in Glen Cove
Same thing happened by my house on the Shark River in NJ a couple of months back. Boat caught fire, drifted into 3 others and set them on fire. My big boat was slipped about 150' away. Yep, I was in work and panicing...

Re: 4 Boats Fire Damaged in Glen Cove
I was on a JetBlue flight which landed at JFK yesterday at 1:30pm. I saw it from the plane. East wind made the landing pattern fly west down the Island. I saw North Port, Sand City, Loyds Harbor, Oyster bay & then....uh oh! Something is cooking at the Glen Cove marina
