Default Eliminator Defies Laws of Physics

Just received my December issue of Powerboat Magazine today and checked out the 28' Eliminator with 525s... claiming 120mph speeds with 1:35 gear cases and 36" props. I have a friend who has a 30' Elim with really good running 750s and he barely hits 119mph! I have been reading Powerboat since the 70s and sometimes get leary of their overzealous findings, but this is the biggest pile of B.S. I have read in a long time. I think they have finally lost me as a fan and probably have lost the trust of many of thier readers. Some one should tell them to stop publishing B.S. just too please their big advertisers.

Okay, so they're off by 10mph...They were being conservative, it actually does 130.

I gave up on them a long time ago.
Every 12 months, they repeat. -- The same boats by the same manufacturers (advertisers), with the same raving reviews. Not to mention news that's 2 month old.

Maybe the article was written after consuming 10 beers. Aren't you supposed to add one mph per each beer consumed???

Dave, I justed noticed that you are credited with 12,427 posts. That's almost as exagerated as Powerboat Mag test! It would take you 4 years making at least 8 posts/day to get to 12,427!

It also seems to have a lot of the deck boat info> Page 89/90 etc has an article regarding a bow rider with rod holders etc.

Articles thy may have written for one of their other magazines and using it as filler to reduce cost and fill available space.

It seems to be a push at the least. The same boat with 496 HO's will do 105mph+/- right????
