Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Need information on a Chriscat.
I am looking at buying a ChrisCat that raced in the early 90s under the name of Terminator racing(may have been Black Duck also) The boat ran 4 2.4 and then changed to a pleasure boat in the late 90s. (1999 i think) 4 2.5 efi motors were installed and never raced again. Does anybody have any information on this boat. I was told it was raced very little and never damaged or stuffed. I am looking at buying this boat, it looks and sounds in good shape. Any help would be great. Thanks for the help, your great people to deal with. Thanks Jeff 514-631-8748 [email protected] |

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
BLACK DUCK was a different boat, 30' Shadow, ended up as Penzoil. Probably the winnigest boat ever.

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
I think your right.
I bought Pennzoils 30ft. Shadow Cat. Was renamed Boardwalk Racing. Thats the boat. Im cutting up. She will not be seen again unless someone wants it for free? Thanks for the help I will continue looking for Terminator racing. Jeff |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Talked with EastCoast Marine, he does not remember the boat.
Note: He stated that the ShadowCat & ChrisCat were not very well built & I should not buy one. Any feedback on the Shadow Cat & Chris Cat. Is it true that they would not stay together? |

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Thanks again,
The guy that is selling (Tim Spiker lives in Omaho Nebraska), He states that he bought it from a guy that changed it into a pleasure boat. (about 3 years ago) Is your freind the guy that did the work? Does he remember the condition of the boat, when he had it? Thanks again, Jeff P.S.: Do you know how much they want for the inboards. I think the outboards were faster?(I could be wrong?) |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
You Must Have Called The Wrong East Coast Joe Rigged The Boat The Orignal Owner Is Nick I Raced Against It With Wild Bills Express which Was A Shadow Cat With 3 V8 Evinrudes In The Old NPBA Racing Circuit In The Late 80s The Boat Had 4 2.4 mercs On It I Will See If I Can Get Nicks Phone # For You

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
The guy I talked with was John. He was not the guy that rigged the boat. But, built a 32ft cat (copied from the Shadow cat)
Didnt have anything nice to say about the ChrisCat. Any help would be great. I was just told that they were good boats after 1985. This one looks clean & well taken care of. 4 motors so I am a little worried about the transom. It has strong supports & no stress cracks, so that sounds good Thanks Jeff |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Slowoutboards
e-mail me your phone number we got good stories. Thanks for the help, Enjoy supper?? |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
slowoutboards,
How did that ChrisCat run when you raced it? Do you ever remember it being damaged or stuffed? You know, you can drive your boat straight to my house without getting out of the boat(fuel only) Great way to watch the Grand Prix & fire works? Interesting? |

Also, do a search for posts about Shadow, Chris Craft, Conquest and/or from Glinder and T2x. You'll find those informative. |

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
I hava a 1984 CHRIS CAT that in past lives was rigged with #2s, #3s, #4s, #5s, . Been raced as Tropic Heat in the early 90s. Turned it into a pleasure boat in 95 and now it has ASD8s. It has had everything from 400 to 800 hp. They are heavy boats  , mine is 10,600Lbs wet, Runs 110 on GPS with 700hp per side. I LOVE THIS BOAT!! :D It will run fast in the rough and still be safe. I think you need to research these boats on this forum and you will find that they are not junk, they do not come apart (built like a tank) and that they are a great value. I have no experience with the OB (maybe lighter layup??). When Chris Craft stopped building these boats, they had 3 sets of molds. One was bought by American offshore and is built as their 31AO. One went to Awesome Powerboats, and is built as their 3100, and one was last seen at Puma in Fla. I believe that the IO was faster in the beginning due to weight and available OB hp. There have certainly been many advances in hull design since George Linder designed this boat 25 or so years ago, but these boats were fast and fun then and not much has changed. Just my 2 cents worth. :evilb:

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Ok, lets start at the beginning,
I bought Shaun&Nicky boat from a guy in upper New York. They stuffed the boat, hit the bottom and broke the left stringer (3ftback),& the deck fell in. The boat was fixed to look good (only!) It was fully rigged, less power heads whem I bought it. Was ready to repair the front but, moisture test stated 80% in the back of the boat & under gas tanks. (Back was repaired prior from a fire) I paid what the trailer was worth (nice one!) Love to fix it but I think its over. I agree she was heavy & solid (also won alot)! The Chris Cat is also a good boat and thats why I am looking to buy one. I also have a STV with a 2.5 efi offshore & love the outboards. Thats one nice Cat, why did you sell it? |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Oh ya, I did not talk with Joey at East Coast Marine but hope to.
It seems that they still are making boats from the molds, I guess they could run :evilb: Love to ride in this 30ft ChrisCat with 4 2.5 but its to cold! Not to many with outboards? Thanks for the help in my search for another toy |

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
I have a 85 Chris Cat very heavy for a cat had it for the last 5 years at Lake of the Ozarks. If it holds up here it is tuff lots of people know the back of my boat I live here come by and go for a ride. Never driven one with outboards four sounds like a lot of gas and oil but fun to drive. Several of them around the country one in good shape is not real hard to find just takes a while older boat so the transom could be bad have it looked over first. :evilb:

Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
FSTBOATER
Come on, you have to show me the beast! What motors are you running? 4 outboards (fuel & oil) I have a trucking company, so gas is no problem. I have drag raced these 2.5s behind a STV & it would turn 10,000+ (then broke the crank in half) Broke a few blades. But man, she would pull from start to end. I would love to run a ChrisCat Shadow cat with 3 300 promax. Has anybody tried 300 on these boat? Need a 30ft cat with outboards (maybe inboards?) Keep me in mind if you see one. My only gold is to run 100+ & seat five people? So far, I think I will buy the 30ft Chriscat with 4 motors. (must make a great smoke show) :D Thanks I have a 93 vette, want to drag race it. |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)

I've read that the Chris(AO) was designed for outboards and the Shadow(Awesome powerboats) was designed for inboards. T2x would know about that. To the best of my knowledge, only Chev. BB were installed in the 31 Awesome's. |
Re: Chriscat (Terminator racing)
Cant be much room under the deck ?
How good is a moisture meter when buying an older boat? They seem great until they sit with water in the bottom for a few years :( |
